I am teaching myself and have a lot of friends who quilt. I have attended quilt retreats and helped other quilters with their projects so I could get some hands on experience before jumping into the pot so to speak. I love that you ramble because I ramble. I learn better with all of the extra rambling that most people get annoied with. I will be checking out more of your tutorials that you have posted. I found this in a link from FavQuilts.com. My big news is that I am now a licensed minister, and the blog was put to the side while I studied and prepared for testing. Now I am unsure about it... ministry doors are opening, and once again, I have come to realize that although I dearly LOVE writing, my priorities have to focus other directions. And FB is just so much easier to deal with than creating a beautiful blog post! Hugs to you, and hope you enjoy your summer by the sea... love that area! I have so many PHD's (projects half done sounds much more intelligent than UFO's??) and lots in the pile waiting for the quilter, (Me), but customer quilts pay my bills, so they get done, but it is starting to stress me with so many projects to finish. In fact they didn't even clean up the glue - my sister-in-law and I spent over 10 hours on our hands and knees with goo-be-gone and simple green cleaning up their mess. As a result of not being properly sealed it has lost it's shine and shows some wear - BUT! I still love it. I have to remind myself that it's a work room not the main room of the house, but then again, it IS the main room of the house. Bottom line, I would choose the tile again just a different installer. Thanks for commenting - hope this helps Karen E.
