The Quaker Monk parakeets are the ones others mentioned they saw in the wild here in our area http://www.parrotchronicles.com/departments/parrotindex.htm#QUAKER I can't say I know for sure -- it was a while ago when I saw the wild flock and I've slept since then (grin) all I can remember is they were the beautiful tropical green (double grin).
Perhaps our little friend indeed was an Ike victim and is now homeless. If so, God has certainly taken care of him as we are now two months post Ike.
And no, I didn't see him today (sigh) but I will keep a bowl of millet out in hopes that he will return.
